The first hardware information about Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series, which is expected to be introduced in 2026, has begun to emerge. According to the latest information, the company is preparing to significantly increase the RAM capacity in this series. Allegedly, 16 GB of RAM will be offered in all models of the Galaxy S26 series.
Galaxy S26 series on the agenda with the increase in RAM
Samsung received intense criticism in terms of hardware in the Galaxy S24 series, and thereupon decided to increase the RAM capacity in the Galaxy S25 series. 12 GB of RAM was made standard in all models in the Galaxy S25, but 16 GB of RAM was limited only to the China, Korea and Taiwan versions of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. New information shows that this limitation will be eliminated and 16 GB of RAM will be offered as the basic hardware in the entire S26 family.
There are two main factors behind the decision. The first is Samsung’s focus on built-in artificial intelligence features and the need to meet the increasing memory needs of these applications. The second factor is the pressure created in the global market by Chinese manufacturers with their aggressive hardware strategies.
Samsung’s move is also being compared to the current picture on the Apple front. It is said that the iPhone 17 series will switch to 12 GB RAM this year, but the base model will still come with 8 GB RAM. It is expected that the 12 GB RAM amount will be spread across the entire series in the iPhone models to be introduced next year.
